"My journey started with Simon when I walked into my local frame shop, which I do frequent often, and saw for the first time a couple of oil paintings hanging on their walls which I absolutely adored.

The brush strokes and muted colours mixed with the pleasure of recognising the landscape compelled me to photograph the images and scribble down the artist’s name and number.

The more I glanced at the images I had taken, the more I wanted an oil painting of my own, so I contacted Simon, with an idea to commission him to paint my very own personal and favourite view.

Simon immediately returned my message and suggested I send over a selection of images of ‘my view’, of which he chose one he thought provided the most interesting features and light.

As simple as that he started painting and in just over two weeks he kindly hand delivered the most stunning piece, beautifully wrapped with a certificate of authentication and a little extra gift (two coasters featuring a reproduction of his artwork - we love them).

The commission was well priced, quick (for an oil painting) and beyond all captured the essence and tranquillity of the view my husband and I love, which we can now glimpse from our home in London, whilst dreaming of our next visit to the real thing."
